Coach Brett Lovern
My passion is to make the glory of God known in all the earth, specifically through music and worship ministry. In 1998, God changed the course of my life. I had learned to play the guitar and attended Bible college, thinking I wanted to become the next Jars of Clay. But through a class on the foundations of worship, I recognized that building my own little kingdom paled in comparison to building the kingdom of God through the local church. Learning what the Bible reveals about who God is and what he has done for us through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection convinced me to abandon my selfish pursuits and invest in something that will actually last for eternity.
That’s why I love coaching worship teams and leaders. There is no greater joy for me than to see people overcome by the glory of God and then respond accordingly in worship. Whether in a classroom, rehearsal, service, or conversation, my purpose is always to exalt God so that his beauty and majesty will result in life change.
And by 'life change,' I mean becoming better spouses, better parents, better worship leaders, better musicians, better technicians, better church members, better neighbors, better employees, and better disciples.
It’s this purpose and passion that has kept me in the same church for over 25 years leading worship, shepherding volunteers, creating and implementing systems, learning from seasoned leaders and pastors, and coaching other worship leaders. I’ve helped to lead local, regional, and national worship leader networks as well as taught workshops and led worship at conferences and international churches. As exciting and memorable as these experiences have been, none of them compete with or compare to the time I get to spend in the presence of God each day. What an honor and a miracle that a glorious, holy God welcomes people like you and me!
I’ve been married to my biggest fan and supporter, Jamie, since 2005. We love to play games together, particularly all the versions of Ticket to Ride. We have two incredible kids and two dogs and live in Lancaster, PA.
