I believe strongly in worship leadership beyond just the singing (shepherdship!), and I love to develop it in other worship leaders.
For about 25 years, I have been leading worship. Sometimes, it’s for a room of four people. Other times, it’s been for a room of 4,000. Vocationally, it’s been at seven campuses in four churches across two states. All of that to say: I am a worship pastor through and through – nothing motivates me in life like leading a church into God’s Presence and seeing them embrace Him – but a close second for me is the development of other worship leaders to do the same at a high caliber.
I currently serve at my home church, OKC Community Church, in my hometown of Oklahoma City. I have been married to Kristin since 2007. She works for a non-profit as the Western Oklahoma Director. We have three children: Stevenson (2011) and Vladjoumy (2016) were both adopted from Haiti in October of 2018, and in August of 2021 we welcomed our biological child, Maya. A worship pastor, social worker, two adopted children, and a daughter with Down syndrome—nothing about our family is orthodox, and that’s what makes it so perfect and meant for God’s Kingdom.

At the end of the children’s holiday movie, The Star, the main character, Bo the donkey, frees the two villain dogs who were been chasing him, thus saving them from their certain death once they are unchained. Apologetically, Rufus says to him, “We’re bad dogs”, and Bo responds, “You don’t have to be, you’re free now”. Moments later, they come upon the stable and manger, and they meet Jesus. Rufus asks the other dog, "Thaddeus, are we good dogs now?" and Thaddeus replies, "We have to try.” Unbelievable writing.
