On Christmas Eve, a church in your area is holding six services: traditional, contemporary, blended, modern, emergent, and orthodox. Then, after the candelighting, the worship team is hopping on a redeye to do a missions trip to Cambodia over Christmas and New Year’s.

Does that sound crazy?

It is. And so is trying to minister to your congregation this Advent season in your own strength. If you’re running on empty, you’ll sow empty, and reap empty. Yuck.

So friends, let’s dive in and spend ample time with the Lord in worship, in the word, and in prayer.

Of course, the opening paragraph isn’t true, but sadly many leaders will try to plow through without pausing to refuel. Let’s not be those leaders!
